Greetings, and Happy New Year! We hope that you were able to enjoy the recent holidays with family and friends, and we wish you a happy and healthy 2011! Brian and I continue to be deployed to Mosul, Iraq. Aidan is staying with Kate's parents, Debbie and Pete and is currently "wintering" in Charleston, South Carolina. Aidan's current loves include: anything Elmo, composing music, coloring, and building with duplo legos. He also enjoys outings to the playground, the aquarium and the beach! He is very lucky that Babci and Papa Pete like these as well :)
A very special congratulations are in order for Aidan's godmommy, and one of Kate's best friends, Colleen, who got engaged to her longtime boyfriend (and Brian's fraternity brother) Corey on New Years Eve!!! We are so excited for them!
2011 is sure to bring lots of changes to the Murphy household. Brian and I should complete our deployment in early fall, and are looking for new opportunities within the Army. We hope to have some news as to potential follow-on assignments later this spring! Brian looks to finish his tenure as company commander of A Co, 4BSTB in March. We'll post more about his new job once he knows what it is! Aidan will be turning two this spring, and we hope to celebrate a late birthday with him when we travel home for R&R. Kate is busy exploring home renovation and decorating ideas in anticipation of doing some work on Grandma Murphy's house in Irvington, NY.
I've added a picture of Brian and I on Christmas, and hopefully we can convince Babci Kasarjian to add some of Aidan as well!
